I am writing a _lot_ of conversation, I just realized.

Compared to the Trials of Kyle Grave, the amount of conversation in this book — at least the first two chapters — is staggering.

I guess that’s because it’s not so mysterious and action-fueled, so characters have the time to talk, but damn, I’m definitely not used to seeing it myself.

I’m still in the “baby steps” phase, which means I’m still coming to understand the characters, and what motivates them, as I progress. This tends to be the hardest part for me, as I’m effectively walking into the unknown dark with my hands out in front of me.
