Yikes.

Work on the novel is progressing so fluidly I forgot to update this blog. I’m at 170 pages now. I’m not trying to write another 300 pager, so my goal is to end at about 220 (?!) ish, maybe, possibly.

As far as arcs go, I just finished the climax of the romance arc and I’m threading it into the budding mystery arc. Depending on how things go, I plan to settle things with an open end for a second book, or close out the story entirely. There’s a lot of ground to cover, and I don’t think 50-60 pages is going to be enough.

As happy as I am with the book, I’m super disappointed in my progress — at this rate it might take an upward of 18 weeks. 4.5 months! Part of it is because I still have my contract work to handle, as well as getting sick or disenchanted with reality in general.

I’ve established a wobbly 800-1000 words a day when I write.
